iOS 26 battery draining too fast on iPhone 15

my iPhone 15 battery has been acting up since I updated to iOS 26. It was full this morning, and now it’s already down to 30% even though I barely touched it.

I haven’t changed anything on the phone, and it feels like it’s overheating a bit too. Anyone else seeing this? Any hacks to stop it from dying so quickly?

  1. Hey I too have iPhone 15 pro and i updated it to iOS 26 yesterday, and I noticed the battery was draining faster than usual too. I spent the first day watching it, and honestly, it was a bit in the red by the evening. No overheating, though, so I wasn’t too worried.
From what I’ve seen (and Apple actually mentions this in their support docs), this is pretty normal for the first couple of days after a major update. Your phone is busy doing a bunch of stuff in the background—indexing files, updating apps, downloading new assets. Basically, it’s “settling in,” and that can eat battery a bit.
Here’s what I did to help improve my battery life:

    1. Switch to LTE only for a few days : Go to Settings > Cellular > Cellular Data Options > Voice & Data and set it to LTE instead of Automatic. Constantly switching between 5G and LTE can drain the battery.
    2. Turn off Background App Refresh : Settings > General > Background App Refresh > Off. Apps won’t refresh in the background and it saves a lot of juice.
    3. Enable Adapt to Power (if available) : Settings > Battery > Power Mode > Adapt to Power. This throttles some background activity to optimize battery.
    4. Turn off keyboard haptics : Settings > Sounds & Haptics > Keyboard Feedback > Haptics Off. It’s a small thing, but it helps.

After doing these, I noticed my battery stabilized a lot by the second day. If your battery is still draining heavily after 4–5 days, then maybe something else is going on, but for the first couple of days, it’s totally normal.
    Hope this helps! 👍
