did the last firmware kill noise cancellation or what? my airpods pro 2 used to block almost everything, now after 7A294 (and whatever the next ones were) it feels like it’s only half working.
on the train this morning I could hear full conversations around me, even announcements were clear through the buds. before, all that was muffled. same at work —coworker’s keyboard clicks and voices come through like ANC isn’t even on.
I tried all the usual stuff… reset them, changed tips, cleaned them, toggled transparency/anc/adaptive, nothing helped. honestly feels like they’re stuck in a weak adaptive mode.
is anyone else noticing this?
Same here on firmware 7B19. I did all the usual: reset the AirPods, unpaired/re-paired, swapped ear tips. No difference. Even swapped them once at Apple and the replacements sounded the same. That tells me it’s the software, not the hardware.
yep, anc on my airpods pro 2 is way weaker now. hard to tell the difference between transparency and noise cancel.
Hey all I ran an Ear Tip Fit Test (Settings → Bluetooth → “i” icon) and still, ANC sounds blow away compared to a few weeks ago. I honestly think the firmware tweaked the noise-blocking algorithm or mic sensitivity. It’s no longer giving that hard-blocking feel. Really hoping they reverse this in the next patch.
Same here after update 7A302 noise canceling definitely not as strong anymore. Seems to be a firmware issue.
